Step 1: Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher; the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2: Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink; even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3: Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer; it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it. No special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use, and with these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Every knife comes in its own presentation box, ready to give as a gift.
Got this knife a few weeks ago and its really sharp out of the box. The damascus pattern looks nice and it feels good in the hand, not too heavy. Ive been using it for everything, slicing chicken, chopping veggies, its been holding its edge well. My only little thing is I wish they made it just a bit longer, like an 8 inch would be perfect for me. Still, for the price its a solid knife and I'd buy it again.
Got this for myself as a birthday present and I'm kicking myself for not buying a real Japanese knife sooner. Ive been using some cheap stainless steel set for years and the difference is night and day. The Misuzu glides through onions like butter zero tears. Its got a nice weight to it too not too heavy not too flimsy. Edge is holding up great after a month of daily use just need to be careful handwashing it.
This knife is ridiculous sharp right out of the box. Used it to slice up some ripe tomatoes and they practically fell apart before I even touched them. The Damascus pattern is way prettier in person too, caught the light just right and my wife thought I spent way more than I did. Handle feels solid in my hand, not slippery at all even when my hands are wet.
It's a decent knife. Does the job. I was maybe expecting a little more for the price? It's sharp, but so was my cheaper Mercer. The handle is okay. It's fine, just not blown away.
I read a lot of reviews before buying this. They were right. It's a fantastic value. The blade is thin behind the edge so it cuts with almost no effort. Very happy customer.
I've been using this daily for about a month now. The VG10 core is no joke, I've only had to hone it once and it's still slicing paper thin tomatoes. The 7.5 inch size is perfect for my smaller hands.
Three stars. It's good, not great. The blade is nice and it cuts well. I don't know, maybe my expectations were too high from reading reviews. It's a good knife, just feels like any other decent chef knife to me.
Really nice knife overall. The sharpness is incredible. My only very minor gripe is I wish the handle was a tiny bit more rounded, it's a little blocky for my grip. But that's just personal preference, still a great blade.
Its a good knife, sharp out of the box and looks nice. I guess I was just expecting to be more wowed for sixty bucks? The handle is comfortable but it feels a bit... plain I guess. Does the job fine for daily cooking, just not the massive upgrade from my old Mercer that I was hoping for. Its fine.
Bought this for my husband who loves to cook. He was using some cheap block set knives before and the difference is night and day. He says the balance is perfect and he loves the gyuto shape for rocking through herbs. Came in a nice box too which made it feel like a real gift. He's thrilled with it.
I was looking for a good gyuto and this one fit the bill. The rocking motion is smooth and it's just a pleasure to use. My wife even commented on how nice it looks on the magnetic strip.
Pretty happy with this purchase. The damascus is nice but not as pronounced as in some pictures online. That's fine though, it's the performance that counts and it performs very well. Just a note for anyone expecting super flashy patterns.
Ok so I was a little nervous buying a knife online but this one is legit. The VG10 core holds an edge like nothing else I've owned. I break down whole chickens with it and it handles the joints fine, just have to be careful. Handle feels solid, not slippery when wet. For the price its a steal honestly.
The knife is gorgeous and performs even better. The damascus pattern is really elegant. It's my first Japanese knife and I'm hooked. Cuts so cleanly.
The knife does its job, but itβs not particularly impressive.
Shipping was incredibly fast, and the knife exceeded all my expectations.
Performs well enough, but doesn't feel premium.
Iβm impressed with the quality and sharpness of this knife; itβs a great addition to my kitchen.
Precision cutting at its finest
The sharpness and precision of this knife are outstanding. Itβs quickly become my favorite kitchen tool.
Iβm happy with how this knife performs. Itβs sharp, comfortable to use, and seems like it will last a long time.
This knife has met all my expectations. Itβs sharp, well-made, and makes cooking more efficient and enjoyable.
This knife is a joy to use. It cuts through everything with such ease and precision.
This knife has an impressive sharpness and a comfortable grip, making it a great addition to my kitchen.
The knife is sharp, but it dulls too quickly for my liking.
