Asuka ι£ι³₯ 7β³ Damascus Steel Santoku Knife δΈεΎ³ε δΈ
Introducing the Asuka ι£ι³₯ by Shimeru, a premium 7β³ santoku knife that captures the splendour of Japan's ancient imperial era. With its striking black resin and gold flake handle, the Asuka is forged for those who seek opulence and precision in equal measure.
The blade is forged from 67 layers of premium Damascus steel with a VG10 cutting core, delivering exceptional sharpness, durability, and edge retention. The intricate wave pattern across the blade is unique to each knife, a hallmark of traditional Damascus craftsmanship. The hammered tsuchime finish reduces friction and prevents food from clinging, ensuring clean, effortless cuts through vegetables, proteins, and delicate ingredients alike.
The handle is a statement of luxury, crafted from deep black resin embedded with shimmering gold flakes that catch the light with every movement. No two handles are identical, making each Asuka a truly unique piece. The ergonomic Western-style grip provides a secure, comfortable hold, while a decorative mosaic pin adds a refined finishing touch. Moisture-resistant and built for durability, this handle performs beautifully in the busiest kitchens.
At 7β³, the Asuka santoku excels at the three essential cutsβslicing, dicing, and mincing. Its wide blade profile allows for easy scooping and transfer of ingredients, while the balanced weight provides agile, confident handling for both everyday meal preparation and ambitious culinary creations.
The Asuka ι£ι³₯ 7β³ Damascus Steel Santoku Knife is crafted for chefs who appreciate artistry and grandeur. A blade that brings golden elegance and flawless performance to your kitchen, the Asuka will transform every cooking session into an occasion.

Step 1: Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher; the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2: Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink; even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3: Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer; it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it. No special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use, and with these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Every knife comes in its own presentation box, ready to give as a gift.
Got this as a birthday gift for myself and honestly its the best kitchen knife I've ever owned. The blade came razor sharp right out of the box, sliced through tomatoes like they were butter. The Damascus pattern is really something to look at too, almost too pretty to use but I've been using it every day for two weeks now and it still holds its edge perfectly. The handle feels solid in my hand, not slippery at all even when my hands are wet. Really happy with this purchase.
So I bought this after my old santoku finally gave out. The blade is crazy sharp and the VG10 steel really holds an edge way better than my previous knife. The gold flakes in the handle are a nice touch, looks real classy. Only thing is the handle is a bit thicker than what I'm used to, took me a few days to get comfortable with it. But now that I adjusted I actually like it, feels more secure. Wish it came with a saya though, had to buy one separate. Still a great knife for the price.
This knife is beautiful and sharp as hell. Got it as a treat for myself after using cheap stuff for years. The handle has this cool gold flake look that is way nicer in person than the pictures. Cut through some butternut squash last night like it was butter. Took me a minute to get used to the weight but now I love how solid it feels. Definitely my new favorite kitchen tool.
Got this knife last week and holy cow its sharp right out of the box. Ive been using it for everything from dicing onions to slicing chicken thighs and it just glides through everything. The handle looks way fancier in person than I expected, like gold flecks and all, but it actually feels solid and grippy not slippery like I thought it might be. My old santoku was a cheapie from Target and this is a massive upgrade, the blade holds its edge way longer too. Only thing is I wish it came with a sheath or guard but thats minor. Totally worth the money.
Got this as a birthday gift for my wife who loves to cook. She was absolutely thrilled with how it looks. The damascus pattern is really unique. She says it's perfectly balanced and the flat profile of the santoku is great for chopping veggies. Came in a nice box too, felt really premium.
Really nice knife overall. The sharpness is fantastic and it looks stunning on my magnetic strip. My only minor thing is the handle shape, it's a little more oval than I'm used to so it took a day or two for my grip to feel totally natural. But now it's fine. Definitely recommend it, cuts like a dream.
The packaging was really secure, no chance of it getting damaged. The knife itself is gorgeous. The layers in the steel are so clear. Performs as good as it looks.
So I've been using this Asuka knife for about a month now and its my go-to for pretty much everything. The edge is still crazy sharp, I've only had to hone it once. The handle is beautiful, the gold flakes catch the light in my kitchen. Makes slicing tomatoes and onions feel effortless. Huge upgrade from the cheap block set I had before.
Bought this to replace a cheap santoku I had. The difference is night and day. The Damascus finish is beautiful and it feels like a real tool in your hand. My new favorite kitchen thing.
Very good knife. Arrived sharp and well-packaged. Does everything I ask of it. I think I might have preferred a western-style handle, but the Japanese style is growing on me. Definitely recommend it.
Great knife for the price. The sharpness is impressive. It is a little heavier than I was expecting based on my other santoku, but I got used to it after a couple days. Cuts beautifully.
Really nice knife overall. The edge is fantastic and it looks beautiful. My only very minor thing is I wish the handle was a tiny bit more rounded, my grip is a little different. Still a great knife and I use it all the time.
It's a decent knife. Does the job. The damascus finish is pretty and it came well packaged. I guess I was just expecting to be more wowed for the price? It's sharp, but so was my old $30 Mercer. Handle feels a bit plasticky to me. It's good, not great. I'll use it but probably wouldn't buy another one from the line.
An essential tool that has become my kitchen favorite.
This knife has made cooking so much more enjoyable; I can't imagine my kitchen without it.
This knife is simply superb; I highly recommend it.
An absolute must-have for any serious chef
I've owned many knives, but this one is by far the best.
This knife has quickly become one of my go-to tools in the kitchen. It handles various tasks with ease, whether Iβm slicing vegetables or cutting through meat. The edge retention is quite impressive, and it remains sharp even after several weeks of regular use. The handle is comfortable to grip, though it could be slightly better in terms of ergonomics for prolonged use. Overall, itβs a solid knife that offers great value for its price.
This knife is a solid choice for any kitchen. Itβs sharp, durable, and handles a variety of tasks with ease.
This knife offers sharp, clean cuts and a comfortable grip, making it a great kitchen tool.
I received my knife much faster than anticipated. Itβs sharp, well-balanced, and beautifully designed.
Iβm pleased with the performance of this knife. Itβs sharp, comfortable to hold, and easy to clean. The blade is great for all sorts of tasks, from slicing to chopping, though I did find that it needs regular honing to stay sharp. The handle is comfortable and provides a good grip, though it could be a bit more ergonomic for better comfort during long cooking sessions. Despite these small issues, itβs a solid knife thatβs become a staple in my kitchen.
Iβm happy with the performance of this knife. Itβs sharp, well-made, and comfortable to use, even for longer cooking sessions.
This knife is beautifully crafted and performs like a dream. Itβs worth every penny.
