Step 1: Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher; the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2: Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink; even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3: Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer; it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it. No special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use, and with these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Every knife comes in its own presentation box, ready to give as a gift.

SaleBought this as a Fatherβs Day gift for my dad who loves to cook. Heβs been using a cheap block set forever, so I wanted to get him something decent but not crazy expensive. He used it right away to chop veggies for a stir fry and called me later to say itβs the sharpest knife heβs ever owned. Iβve tried it too when I visit, itβs right up there with my Wusthof classic. The flat santoku profile is pretty versatile, does push cuts and some rocking too. The handle fits my hand nicely. For seventy bucks, Iβm impressed. Might get one for myself.
Got this knife a few days ago, it arrived fast and the box it came in was pretty nice. First thing I cut was an onion and I swear it just fell apart. The bladeβs got this hammered pattern that stops stuff from sticking, which is neat. AUS10 steel feels really solid. Very happy.
Really solid knife overall. The edge is super sharp and it's held up well after about a month of regular use. I do a lot of veg prep and the flat profile makes chopping super efficient. My only small gripe is the handleβit's a bit more rounded than I'm used to, took a few days to get comfortable with it. But once I adjusted it's fine. Wish it came with a saya or blade guard though, I had to buy one separately. Still, great value for the price.
Got this a few weeks ago and it's honestly my favorite knife now. The blade is crazy sharp right out of the boxβlike, I tested it on a tomato and it just sank through the skin without any pressure. I've been using it for everything from dicing onions to slicing up raw chicken thighs and it just glides. The hammered finish actually does help with food not sticking, which is nice. Handle feels good in my hand, not slippery even when my hands are wet. For $70 it's a steal, way better than the Wusthof I had before.
So I've been using this Yodo santoku for about a month now, basically daily. The edge is still crazy sharp, I've only had to run it on a honing rod a couple times. Makes quick work of onions and peppers, and the hammered finish really does help with potatoes not sticking. Handle feels solid, not cheap at all. For the price, I'm super impressed.
Bought this after reading about AUS10 steel. It holds an edge way longer than my other knives. The santoku shape is super versatile, I barely use my chef's knife anymore.
I like it a lot. The steel is good quality and it holds an edge. The handle is comfortable but it did take a little getting used to the shape, it's different from my old Wusthof. After a week it feels fine. Would recommend.
Massive upgrade from my old cheap santoku. The balance is so good, feels like an extension of my hand. Been using it daily for 3 weeks now and it's still just as sharp.
I've had this for about two months now and it's still my go-to. The handle shape took maybe a day to get used to but now it feels natural. Great purchase.
I was nervous buying a knife online but this one is great. The flat part of the blade is perfect for chopping herbs. Handle is comfortable for my medium sized hands.
Exceptional precision and comfort in the hand. Worth every penny.
This knife makes even the toughest vegetables feel like butter. Itβs incredibly sharp and easy to handle.
Iβm really enjoying this knifeβitβs sharp, well-balanced, and feels great in the hand.
This knife has a beautiful design and delivers sharp, precise cuts every time.
Iβve been impressed with this knife. Itβs sharp, comfortable to hold, and seems built to last. The blade is precise and handles a variety of tasks with ease, though it does require frequent sharpening to maintain its edge. The handle is well-designed and provides a secure grip, but I think it could be slightly more cushioned for better comfort during extended use. Overall, itβs a reliable knife thatβs worth the investment, even if it does need a bit of upkeep.
Itβs an average knife, nothing special about it.
The knife is fine, but it doesnβt hold its edge well.
Iβm impressed with how smoothly this knife cuts through everything; itβs a great tool.
Superb edge retention and sharpness
The quality and performance of this knife are unmatched. Itβs made cooking a truly pleasurable experience.
Average qualityβhandle feels a bit cheap.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. The flat profile is perfect for how I chop, and the edge is lovely. Came really well packaged.
The handle is comfortable and provides a great grip
Sharp, but the blade seems too fragile.
This knife is an absolute powerhouse in the kitchen
