Step 1: Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher; the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2: Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink; even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3: Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer; it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it. No special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use, and with these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Every knife comes in its own presentation box, ready to give as a gift.

Salegot this cleaver on a whim and man itβs sharp right out the box. been using it for like two weeks now, mostly for breaking down chickens and chopping veggies for stir fry. the blade has a nice heft to it, feels solid in hand. the wood handle is pretty comfortable too, though it took a couple days to get used to the weight. total upgrade from my old cheap cleaver that could barely cut a carrot. for 60 bucks this thing is a steal honestly.
It's a decent knife for the price. The steel seems good and it holds an edge ok, but the handle feels a little slick when my hands are wet and itβs kinda heavy for extended use. I expected it to be a bit more nimble maybe. Itβll get the job done but Iβm not in love with it.
So Ive been using this cleaver for about a month now. Its definitely sharp and cuts well for most stuff, chops veggies quick and handles meat fine. But for $60 I guess I expected it to feel a bit more premium? The handle is ok but not as comfortable as I hoped, kind of square-ish. Also its a little heavier than my old knife which took some getting used to. Its a good knife dont get me wrong, just not mind blowing or anything.
Got this for my husband for his birthday and honestly I think I use it more than he does. The blade is scary sharp right out of the box, chopped through a butternut squash like it was butter. Handle feels nice and solid in my hand, not slippery at all. Nice weight to it, not too heavy but you can feel the quality. Arrived packed really good too.
Got this cleaver a couple weeks ago and its honestly my new favorite knife in the kitchen. That 8 inch blade is no joke, went through a butternut squash like butter. The handle feels really nice in the hand, good grip even when my hands are greasy. Came in a nice box too which was a bonus. Way better than my old cheap cleaver I got off Amazon.
Great cleaver for the price. It's got a nice heft to it and the edge is super sharp right out of the box. I've been using it for meal prep and it cuts through squash and sweet potatoes like butter. My only gripe is the handle feels a little slick when my hands are wet, took some getting used to. Still would recommend it though.
Got this for my husband as a gift and he loves it! He says its way better than the old cleaver he had. Cuts real clean and the blade holds its edge good. He did mention it's a bit heavier than he expected but it doesn't bother him much. Came in a nice box too which was a bonus.
Bought this as a birthday present for my dad who's a total foodie and he wont stop talking about it. Said the balance is perfect and the steel holds an edge way better than his Wusthof. I got the 7 inch version and it's a nice size for everyday chopping not too big not too small. Came in a nice box too which was a bonus. Cant believe how affordable it is for a Japanese made knife.
Got this cleaver a couple weeks ago and honestly I'm blown away. The blade is crazy sharp right out of the box like way sharper than I was expecting for the price. Used it to slice up some butternut squash and it went through like butter. The handle feels really solid too, nice wood not slippery at all. My old cleaver was some cheap thing from Target and this is just a whole different level. If youre on the fence just get it.
Really like this knife, the sharpness is fantastic and it feels very well made. My only minor thing is the handle shape took a day or two to get used to, it's a bit more squared off than my other knives. But now I don't even notice it. Definitely recommend.
I was looking for a good all-purpose cleaver and this is it. Used it on some beef ribs and it went through the bone like butter. Handle shape fits my hand perfectly.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. Lovely edge on it. Makes quick work of onions and I used it to break down a pork shoulder last weekend. Massive upgrade from the cheap department store cleaver I had before.
Got this for my husband who's been wanting a proper cleaver for ages. He loves it. He says the weight is perfect for getting through bones and the blade is super thin for slicing veggies too. Came in a nice box which made it feel like a real gift.
Got this to replace my old cheap cleaver and wow what a difference. The weight is perfect, feels solid in the hand and just glides through chicken bones. Handle is really comfortable too.
Perfect size for my kitchen. Not too big, gets the job done. The blade is thin enough for slicing veggies but has the heft for poultry. Very versatile.
I highly recommend this knife to anyone looking for quality.
This knife is sharp, sturdy, and a pleasure to use.
I've been using this knife daily, and it's held up incredibly well.
An impressive knife that has enhanced my cooking experience.
Iβve been using this knife for a couple of months now, and it has consistently delivered clean, precise cuts. The balance of the knife is just right, making it feel natural in hand. The blade is sharp, though I noticed it requires more frequent sharpening than I expected. The craftsmanship is evident, but the handle could be slightly more comfortable for extended use. Despite this, itβs a reliable tool that has improved my cooking experience.
Iβm very satisfied with this knife. Itβs sharp right out of the box and has a nice weight to it, making it easy to control.
Itβs sharp out of the box, but the edge retention is disappointing.
Iβm impressed with the sharpness and durability of this knife. Itβs been a reliable tool for all my cooking needs.
I appreciate the superb craftsmanship of this knife.
This knife has exceeded my expectations. Itβs sharp, well-made, and makes cooking more efficient and enjoyable.
