Step 1: Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher; the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2: Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink; even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3: Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer; it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it. No special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use, and with these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Every knife comes in its own presentation box, ready to give as a gift.

SaleGot this bread knife a couple weeks ago and man, it cuts through crusty sourdough like its nothing. I've been using this cheap serrated knife for years and always had trouble with the bread getting smushed, not anymore. The blade on this thing is beautiful too, the Damascus pattern catches the light when I'm slicing. It's pricier than what I'd normally spend on a knife but honestly I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
This is a solid bread knife, handles crusts really well and the edge is still sharp after a month of daily use. The handle feels nice in my hand, but its a little bulkier than I expected, took a few days to get used to the grip. Wish it came in a 10 inch version for bigger loaves but the 8 inch does the job for most things. Would recommend to anyone who bakes a lot.
So I've been using a cheapo bread knife from the grocery store for years and finally upgraded. This thing is crazy sharp like it glides through a crusty sourdough without even pressing. The damascus pattern on the blade is really pretty too, my wife keeps commenting on it. Also came in a nice box which was a plus.
Got this for my dad who is a total bread baking nut and he called me raving about it. Said it cuts through his homemade baguettes like butter not a single crumb mess. The handle feels nice and solid in hand, not slippery at all. He also mentioned the edge seems super durable so far after a few weeks of heavy use.
Got this for my husband who bakes all the time and he absolutely loves it. Makes slicing through sourdough crust like butter, no crushing the bread at all. The Damascus pattern is real pretty too, not gonna lie I was a little jealous when I saw it. Hand wash only but thats fine. Really well packaged too, came in a nice wooden box. Genuinely impressed with the quality for the price.
Got this for my boyfriend who bakes sourdough all the time and he absolutely loves it. The blade is way sharper than the old bread knife he was using, cuts through a crusty loaf like its nothing. The Damascus pattern looks even nicer in person, kinda glows in the light. Not gonna lie I was worried about spending 90 bucks on a bread knife but honestly it feels worth it, he uses it every day and says it just glides through everything. Came in a nice box too which was a bonus.
It's a decent bread knife. Cuts bread fine, the serrations work ok for crusty loaves and bagels. The Damascus steel looks nice I guess, but for 90 bucks I expected something a little more impressive. The handle feels a bit plasticky compared to my other kitchen knives. Its not bad by any means, just not sure it was worth the higher price tag when my old 20 dollar one does pretty much the same job. Maybe I was expecting too much.
Got this as a gift for my brother who's a total foodie. He called me raving about it. Said the weight is perfect and the VG10 steel holds an edge like nothing else. He's used it on everything from baguettes to brioche and says it's a massive upgrade from his old Wusthof bread knife. The presentation box was really nice too, made it feel special.
Way better than the generic bread knife that came with my set. The difference in control and clean cutting is night and day. Very happy customer.
It's a great bread knife, super sharp. I do wish it came in a 10 inch option though, sometimes the 8 inch feels a bit short for bigger artisan loaves. Still, it performs excellently.
The presentation was nice, came in a simple box but it was well protected. The knife itself is a work of art. Makes cutting bread for family dinners a pleasure, not a chore.
It's a decent knife. Does the job fine on bread, the serrations are good. I guess I was expecting more for the price? The handle feels a bit light compared to the blade, throws the balance off a little for me. It's not bad, just not as amazing as the reviews led me to believe. It's good, not great.
It's fine. Looks pretty. Cuts bread. I don't have any major complaints but I don't have any major praise either. It sits in my block and I use it when I need it. Does the job.
Massive upgrade from the cheap serrated knife I had in my block. This thing is a beast. Used it on a giant crusty loaf yesterday and it was effortless.
I've used this for a few weeks now on everything from baguettes to brioche. The serrations are perfect, they just glide. The edge is still just as sharp as day one. Very happy with this purchase.
Cant believe how good this is for the price. Looks way more expensive than it is. Cuts clean through sourdough crusts that used to destroy my old knife.
I was a bit hesitant because of the price but its totally worth it. The weight is balanced nicely and the VG10 steel seems to hold its edge forever. Cuts through tomato skins on sandwiches without squishing them.
So I bake a lot of sourdough and was using a cheap serrated knife that just tore the crust. This thing is a dream. The pattern on the blade is gorgeous and it just glides through the toughest crusts without squishing the loaf. Been using it for a month and its still razor sharp. My husband keeps stealing it to cut tomatoes, says its better than our chef's knife.
