Step 1: Rinse
Warm water and mild soap after each use. Never put your knife in the dishwasher; the harsh detergents and jostling will damage the edge and handle.
Step 2: Dry
Towel dry immediately. Don't leave it wet or in the sink; even stainless steel can develop spots if left damp.
Step 3: Store
Use a knife block, magnetic strip, or blade guard. Never toss it loose in a drawer; it dulls the edge and is a safety hazard.
That's it. No special maintenance, no fussy rituals. Your Shimeru knife is designed for daily use, and with these three steps it'll stay razor-sharp for years.
Every knife comes in its own presentation box, ready to give as a gift.

Sold OutUpgraded from a cheap supermarket set. The difference is night and day. This thing holds an edge so well, I haven't had to sharpen it yet after weeks of use. Love the look.
Been using it for three weeks now, still slices paper thin. The VG10 core seems to be the real deal. Handle is comfortable even during long meal prep sessions.
Bought this for my husband who loves to cook and he hasn't put it down. He says the VG10 core holds an edge way better than his old German steel knives. The Damascus pattern is really unique, looks amazing in the light. He's used it to break down a whole chicken and it performed perfectly.
Great knife for the money. Arrived quickly and was packaged well. The balance point is right where my fingers grip, feels very natural to use.
This is my first nice knife and I'm impressed. It makes prep so much faster. I knocked off a star because I think I should have gone for the 8 inch version, I have large hands and a bigger cutting board. This one is still great for most tasks.
Ok so I got this knife a month ago and its my new favorite thing in the kitchen. The handle is so pretty and the blade is crazy sharp, I cant believe it was under sixty bucks. I use it for everything, makes quick work of onions and peppers. Came in a nice box too.
Positive first impressions. The blade is super sharp and the flat profile of the santoku is great for chopping. I do wish it came in a slightly longer size, maybe an 8 inch, but for the price its fantastic. Arrived next day which was a bonus. Been using it for 3 weeks now and no complaints on performance.
It's a decent knife. Looks nice and it's sharp. I guess I was expecting to be more wowed for the price? It works fine, cuts vegetables okay. Just doesn't feel as special as the description made it seem.
My old knife was so dull it made cooking a chore. This one makes it fun again. The pattern on the blade is really cool, different from every angle.
Brilliant knife, exactly what I needed. Lovely edge on it.
I was a little nervous buying a knife online but this one is legit. It came super sharp out of the box and the handle feels really secure in my hand. Makes prepping veggies way faster.
Really nice knife overall. The sharpness is incredible and the handle is gorgeous. My only minor thing is the handle shape, its a bit round for my grip and took a day or two to get used to. Still, a massive upgrade from my old block set and I use it every day.
Lovely knife, makes quick work of onions and peppers. Handle is stunning. Just a tiny thing - the blade pattern, while beautiful, is a bit distracting when you're trying to see if you've got it clean! Still, a great buy.
Arrived next day which was a bonus. Used it to break down a whole chicken and it handled everything, joints, skin, the lot. Impressed with how sturdy it feels.
Does the job brilliantly, sharp and well made. I just personally find the santoku profile a tiny bit less versatile than a chefs knife for rocking herbs, but that's my preference not a fault. For straight chopping its top.
Really good knife, a big step up from what I had. The VG10 core seems good. I do wish it came with a simple edge guard or sleeve in the box for storage, had to use a tea towel.
My new go-to knife for veg prep. Love it. Only giving 4 stars because I'm not sure about the long-term durability of the resin handle, time will tell, but right now its brilliant.
Impressed with the quality for the price. Holds an edge well. The handle, while beautiful, is a bit slippery if your hands are even slightly wet or greasy, just have to be mindful. Great knife though.
Ok so its a good knife, no doubt. Cuts well. But I'm not blown away. My old Β£30 knife from a different brand performs nearly as well for most tasks. The Damascus pattern is pretty but thats about it for me. Its good, not great.
Ok so first proper knife I've owned. Its sharp, like really sharp, I was a bit nervous using it at first. The flat bit at the front is great for chopping herbs. Handle feels solid, not slippery when your hands are wet. Only thing is its a bit shorter than I thought but thats my fault for not checking the size properly.
Bought this on a bit of a whim and so glad I did. Its just a lovely thing to use. Handle is really comfortable, no hot spots even after a big prep session.
Cant believe how good this is for the price. The weight is perfect, not too heavy. Used it to break down a chicken the other day and it handled the joints fine, although I'd probably use a different knife for that normally. Packaging was really secure, no chance of it getting damaged. Lovely knife.
Great knife, love the blade. My only minor gripe is I wish it came in an 8 inch option as I've got big hands, but for most jobs this 7 inch is perfect. Still recommends.
Used it for a big Sunday roast prep, carrots, spuds, parsnips, didnt need to sharpen it once. Handle is easy to keep clean too which is good.
So I got this to replace my old supermarket santoku and wow, what a difference. The edge is ridiculously sharp out the box, went through a butternut squash like it was nothing. Handle's a bit flash for my kitchen but it's actually really comfy. Came in a nice box too, felt proper posh.
